Everything’s More Complicated in Blended Families

Milo’s 50th birthday is coming up and he wants to have a family gathering to celebrate. His grown children have already made it clear they won’t attend unless his ex-wife is invited, too. His new wife will not hear of it.  Are the children right to insist that their mother be included or are they being unreasonable? Should Milo put his foot down with his new wife or should he go head-to-head with the kids?
