Edie, a second wife, hadn’t had children of her own, and she was over the moon when her step-daughter, Dominique, gave birth to a little boy. Even if she had missed out on being a mother, Donna thought, now she could be a grandmother. Unfortunately, Dominique made it clear that her own mother was the “real” grandmother and Edie would play no part in the boy’s life. Although Donna told her husband how deeply hurt and saddened she was by Dominique’s attitude, he didn’t confront his daughter. What should Donna do?
